The Office of Special Education is participating in an on-going effort to identify, locate, and evaluate children ages birth to 21 who may have a physical, mental, communicative, emotional, and/or developmental disability. Anyone who suspects that a child ages birth to 21 of having a disability should contact Zatara Bolden-Griham, Child Find Coordinator, at (662) 252-0016.
The Office of Special Education is in the process of purging records of students who participated in the Special Education program and exited school year 2019-2020 and prior years. If you would like to obtain your SPED records before the disposal of the records, please contact Zatara Bolden-Griham at (662) 252-0016 or zbolden@mcschools.us. The records will be available for a total of two weeks before disposal.
The Office of Special Services will host a budget planning meeting for parent engagement on June 25, 2024 to discuss the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part B and Preschool Funding Application for the 24-25 school year.

Meet Gerromie Jones, a standout student from Byhalia High School and The Marshall County CTE, selected as one of the 13 participants in the prestigious 2024 Cooperative Youth Leaders program. In a recent interview, Mr. Jones shared that the success of two of his friends in previous years served as motivation for his application. He also mentions that Mr. Wigley’s, (CTE Director), support as a crucial reason for his interest and is excited about the opportunities this program will provide and believes it will open doors for him in the future. Along with his fellow youth leaders, Gerromie will embark on a trip to Washington, DC, where they will have the chance to meet and engage with our nation's leaders.
