Since 2020, Galena has seen a great increase in parental engagement, student motivation, and student engagement. Also, there has been an increase in the percentage of Kindergarten students achieving End-of-Year Target Scores (Probable Reader) on the Kindergarten Readiness Test. The recruitment and retention of highly motivated teachers has increased significantly employing over 97% of Teachers In-Field.
Ms. Adriana Patton, Galena School Principal, is the driving force behind the accomplishments of Galena. She genuinely cares about her staff and her students, and she demonstrates this daily in her dedication to excellence for this campus. Under Ms. Patton's leadership, Galena moved out of school improvement and became a "B" rated school.
Because of her leadership and dedication, Ms. Patton has been named Marshall County School District's 2024 Administrator of the Year. Ms. Patton is one of those educators that puts student success above all else. She works diligently to continue helping the students move the needle of growth, and helping teachers sharpen their skills to become the best teachers they can be.
